HOSPICE VOLUNTEER-

Dependable Hospice is looking to add compassionate volunteers to our hospice team. Volunteers are a vital part of our hospice Care Team as they provide s sense of comfort and support to patients and their families. It is proven, that people who volunteer are 42% happier. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Providing companionship to patients/families;
• Providing emotional support to patients/families;
• Reporting on patient/family status;
• If providing patient services, submit Volunteer Visit Notes, which follow the Volunteer Plan of Care, per agency policy.
• Submit timesheets per company policy.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPPA and agency policy.
• Maintain open communication and report regularly to the Volunteer Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Understanding and supportive of hospice philosophy.
• A compassionate person who is accepting and respectful of people's differences.
• Must be a licensed driver with an insured automobile in good working order, if making patient visits.
• The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
